The Cost Of A Pound

I had thought long and hard about how to start this blog, what to write about first, what points to touch on, whether I should do it or not.

Life is a challenge and attempting to win against the odds may leave you as the odd one out. We all aspire to be happy but always scared to go for what we want. The fear of losing keeps us from a chance at winning, but what comes easy is never worth having. So we must take on the adversaries and believe we are capable of anything. I am a firm believer in karma: you get what you give, so tell me, why are you not happy?

For example I was once on my way home when I was approached by a man asking me for a pound, I needed this pound as I had already budgeted what to use it for but he seemed honest and he looked like he needed it more, I gave it to him. My next stop was at Lidl to buy a couple of things and I was approached on the till queue by a woman in a rush asking if she could have my place in the queue as she’s late, I told her it was okay and then she offered to pay for what I was about to buy. Which you would not believe, it was also a pound, the pound that I needed and gave away was about to be replaced and she paid for my items. This left me pondering, what if I had not given the man who approached me the pound, would I still have met this woman and gained an extra pound or would I have even lost the money? The idea of God was instilled in me as a young boy but through life, I had lost my way but situations like those are what make me think there’s a higher force looking down on us.

Kendrick Lamar said it best “I will tell you just how much a dollar cost.
The price of having a spot in Heaven, embrace your loss, I am God” I might just have cemented my place in heaven that faithful day.
