I was recently told about this new craze if you may, among celebrities and influential leaders from one of my friends (Faruk Abiru). I fell in love with it straight away and ordered one because it appeals and speaks to everything I love about uplifting oneself, sparking conversations and it does it in such a simple away, it is not just a jewellery.
It states on their website that “The MyIntent Project is a catalyst for meaningful conversations and positive energy. We believe there is purpose inside each of us and we want our efforts to encourage people to share more truth and inspiration with each other. We are not a jewelry company – we are an intentions project.” It then continues to say “What do you think the world needs more of? Meaningful conversations, on stuff that matters to us. Community, where we support each other in our journeys. People living with purpose, passion”.
Their purpose is to spark positive conversations and make people be the best they can be by realising their purpose and what better way to do this than to wake up and put on a bracelet or necklace that states your life goal? If that is not a motivation boost then I do not know what is. What I personally like about the idea is that it can be interpreted in two different ways. One is what you want to change about the world and the other is about yourself.
Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Jaden & Willow Smith are some of the growing numbers of celebrities that own a piece of this uplifting intent jewellery. Kanye West has the word ‘Beautify’ on his bracelet because he wishes to beautify the world through his music, fashion and other ventures he wishes to partake in life. Jaden & Willow both have the word ‘Consciousness’ on theirs and Jaden gave this explanation “I am into quantum physics and mathematics – that’s why I felt the need for consciousness. When you apply consciousness to something, that’s how you heal something, that’s how you fix something, you cure the issue – just by conscious intent. Consciousness is all that we have and it’s the only thing that doesn’t die.” I felt like that was a very good detailed explanation and I asked other people for theirs. Beyoncé has the word ‘Hope’, Rihanna has ‘Faith’ and Justin Bieber has the word ‘Purpose’.
Faruk purchased one and this is his.
His word as you can see is inspire and he gave this reason “When looking at the My Intent Project, I love the concept of it and was sold by the idea. I chose my intent word to be ‘Inspire’. This was chosen because, one of my purpose in life is to inspire people positively in any shape or form this could be my peers or a global audience. Being inspirational is something I’ve always strived to do and this bracelet would remind me of what I ‘intend’ to do in life.”
I loved the way he ended it “would remind me of what I intend to do in life”. That is the part I like most about this whole project, it is a reminder and in such a simple way that you can always look on your wrist or at your neck and feel motivated.
Another friend of mine chose the word ‘Alleviate” and said “To alleviate means to make suffering less severe. I’m aware that it’ll be impossible to completely release people from suffering and extreme poverty on my own but I hope I can make some lives better and impact some parts of society positively”.
My order has not been delivered yet but I ordered a necklace and decided to have two words but on the same necklace (cheapskate). I chose the word ‘Purify’ and I wanted the word ‘Unshackle’ or something along those lines, the word ‘Hatch’ was recommended to me and I really liked it so I decided to have it. I chose the word purify because I want to be someone, a figure that people can come to and find themselves. I do not mean purify in the spiritual sense of being closer to God and being sin free but in the sense of being true and pure about who you are, what you stand for and being able to fight your temptations. I decided to have the word hatch because it links with purify, it is about coming out of your shell and finding your true self. It is about hatching and being a brand new better version of your old self, learning to evolve and grow. I also chose these words because I want the same for myself, I want to be purer than I am. I want to be able to resist my temptations, be true to who I am, what I stand for and be the best version of myself. I want to hatch and grow into a better me, I want to constantly evolve and that means hatching from my old skin, the past and things that hold me back and move forward and evolve.
