“All my homies philosophers . Yea, all my homies philosophers . Now I don’t need nobody, I would love somebody though . Don’t you ever get it messed up . Everybody wanna be God , beside God, he wanna be like us” raps Mac Miller on his track “Inside Outside” and also the whole of the amazing project by Raury called “Indigo Child”.
The friendship circle I am in, I would say we are all pretty diverse but also very alike. We are of the new age, children of the Indigo movement. Are we philosophers? Everyone claims to be one in this day and age but I would say we can change lives if we attempted to.
A conversation erupted with someone I place huge importance on in my life, that has helped me through situations about the definition of a saviour and who can be one. The definition of a saviour to me is not big, you do not have to affect life as we know it, if you save one soul from falling at the brink then you have attained this badge in my eyes. He is a saviour to me and so are many of the people I have encountered on my journey through life but he disagrees, he says he is not one. Everyone can be a saviour, we all have the power and the tools in us to save someone.
To be a saviour, you must have self confidence. The ability to wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and accept everything you are and everything you are not. It is nothing to do with overconfidence or being vain, this is self love! You must achieve self love before you can ever try to help someone. Self love is knowing you are not perfect, knowing the world does not revolve around you, knowing you are not the finished article but you are willing to grow and learn from others. No one is perfect, the people you idolise the most have insecurities too. To be a saviour, you must know this and still love yourself. I for one would not want advice from someone that thinks they know it all.
I am 100000% confident in myself and I am aware of my strengths and weakness. This would be why I call myself a saviour because I do not dwell on my weakness, I work on them so therefore I can help others work on theirs. I would say given the right tools, I can be a force for the greater good of humanity. We all can be of the greater good but only if we want to. You cannot begin to attempt to help others if you cannot help yourself and if you do not accept help. Most of us have been brought up with the idea of religion and God so we look at him as our saviour.
My question now is are you looking at God to be your saviour, or are you trying to find an alternative. Do you not feel worthy? Can you not save yourself? Remember you do not have to fit in to win.
You in yourself are a God, we were made in his image so therefore channel your inner God & become the saviour you are meant to be.
Give someone a compliment after this, smile & say hello to a stranger, be there for people. The littlest things mean the most.
